The management of the bank is being present in the shipping sector for almost 40 years and has amassed good experience. This experience has proven valuable in the management of Bank’s exposure in the highly volatile shipping sector, with positive returns.
Aristidis Vourakis |
C-level banking executive with extensive international experience and CEO of ABBank since November 2025. He served at JPMorgan in London from 1998, departing in 2016 to assume the position of Deputy CEO of the regional banking group Bank Audi, with operations in Lebanon, Turkey, Egypt and Switzerland (2017-2019). In December 2020, he assumed the role of CEO at AstroBank Cyprus, where under his leadership the bank achieved significant operational progress and profitability. He has, also, served as Chairman of the Association of Cyprus Banks. |
Anastasios Afthonidis |
Appointed Deputy CEO, in February 2025 bringing over 2 decades of experience in the Banking sector. Has held senior leadership roles in Administrative and Financial Services, including Head of Strategic Planning with a key role in shaping ABBank’s Corporate Strategy and long term development. |
Dimitris Daispyros Senior Vice President |
Head of the Risk Management unit since the establishment of the bank. He previously worked in Greece and abroad with Euro Finance Services SA (1999-2002), ABN AMRO Bank NV (1997-1999) and Informa Group, UK (Business Information of MRC). |
Philippos Tsamanis Senior Vice President |
With ABBank since its inception. Previously, he worked for Euro Finance Services SA (1995-2002). Since 2006 he has managed the Business Development Department and since 2008 the Shipping Department. |
Georgios Kalatzis Senior Vice President |
He has been working at ABBank since 2003. He previously worked at the Investment Bank of Greece SA-IBG (2001-2003) and at Praxis International Securities & Investments SA (1998-2001). |
Antonis Gounaris Senior Vice President |
He joined ABBank in 2017, with more than 30 years of experience in the banking sector, having served in various positions in the Treasury departments of Citibank and the National Bank of Greece and as Treasurer and Assistant General Manager of Probank. |
